Oumou and Ariane first crossed paths during a project in Senegal. United by a shared passion for community development, their initial collaboration showcased remarkable synergy, blending Oumou's expertise in the social field with Ariane's project management skills. In 2021, amidst the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, Oumou, driven by personal reasons, returned to live in Mauritania and perceived this circumstance as a chance for innovation. Acknowledging the enduring challenges experienced by Mauritanian women, she felt compelled to take action. Despite the physical distance, their shared determination to effect positive change gave rise to a novel and promising virtual collaboration. What started as a fortuitous encounter evolved into a durable professional friendship, showcasing the human spirit's ability to transform challenges into meaningful opportunities. Thus, ADFM came into existence.
